Folktales Online
« on: March 09, 2007, 02:56:10 PM »
http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/folktexts.html

Most of you out there interested in folktales who have access to the web probably know this site . . . but I thought I'd link it.  It's the folktexts site of an old Professor of mine, D.L. Ashliman.  A wonderful resource.

Ashliman's Folklinks page is also worth bookmarking.  This is where you want to go first when trying to track down folktales.

Enjoy!

Here's another - not as comprehensive or scholarly, yet it amuses me:

Children already know about dragons.  What faery tales tell children is that dragons can be slain.  GK Chesterton

Thanks, rossweisse!

Sur La Lune is a great site.  I especially like the "similar tales from other cultures" link attached to each of the main stories.  Many of the hyperlinked annotations in the stories are nice to have, as well.
